Week 2 - 16th November

Week 2: 16th November 2012
"The government has the capacity to significantly shape the structure and scope of a country's sport through facilities, funding programs, regulation and laws, and the development of elite athletes. Political ideologies can influence how and why sport is developed in particular countries."
After reading the following link http://www.london2012.com/about-us/funding/
Funding for the recent London Olympics, you can clearly see the investment made to build the Olympic village, and where the funding has come from and how it has left London with world class facilities to be used and see the benefits this has done for sport and a nation. It is however developed by politics and this will result in how the facilities will be used. You can’t escape or divide sport or venues from politics especially government funded.
